Armed Forces flag raised at Ty Dewi Sant to mark Armed Forces Week

糖心Vlog has marked Armed Forces Week with the raising of the Armed Forces Flag at Ty Dewi Sant in Ewloe.

Chair of 糖心Vlog, Councillor Mel Buckley, was joined by Councillor Ted Palmer, Armed Forces Champion, the Lord-Lieutenant of Clwyd, the High Sheriff of Clwyd, veterans and reservists from the Queensferry unit.

Councillors and guests gathered to honour the bravery, dedication, and continued service of Armed Forces personnel past and present.

Councillor Mel Buckley said: 鈥淎rmed Forces Week gives us an important moment to pause and recognise the extraordinary commitment shown by those who serve, have served, and the families who support them.

鈥淩aising the flag at Ty Dewi Sant was a proud and meaningful occasion for us all, and it was especially moving to be joined by local veterans and reservists.

鈥淭heir presence reminds us of the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice that underpin the Armed Forces community, and we as a Council are proud to reaffirm our ongoing support.鈥

Councillor Ted Palmer added: 鈥淥ur Armed Forces play a vital role protecting communities, responding to emergencies, and representing the very best of our country, at home and across the world.

鈥淚t was an honour to stand alongside veterans, reservists, and colleagues as we raised the flag at Ty Dewi Sant.

鈥淔lintshire is proud of its Armed Forces community, and we remain steadfast in our support for those who serve, have served, and the families who stand behind them.鈥

National Armed Forces Day will be marked this Saturday, 27 June, and is this year hosted by Carmarthenshire Council.
